SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John Hubert Horton of East Moline, who passed away on August 2, 2019; and

WHEREAS, John Horton was born in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Fred and Lula (Tyrrell) Horton on August 16, 1933; he served in the U.S. Army and married Lorene Sartor in Mountain Grove on October 23, 1952; and

WHEREAS, John Horton retired from John Deere Planter; and

WHEREAS, John Horton enjoyed feeding birds, gardening, and collecting John Deere items; he also loved tinkering and cars; and

WHEREAS, John Horton was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene; his son, Jack Horton; his great-granddaughter, Tessa Horton; and several siblings; and

WHEREAS, John Horton is survived by his children, Judy (Robin) Egert, John Horton, Kathy (Gary) Newkirk, Carol Emmert, and Barb Horton; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Leland Horton; and his sister, Joe Ann Brandt; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John Hubert Horton and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Horton as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
