SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frank F. Van Houtte Sr. formerly of
4Moline, who passed away on February 14, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. was born in Moline to Frank
6and Mary Van Houtte on April 23, 1926; the oldest of eight
7children, he graduated from Geneseo High School in 1944; he
8enlisted in the United States Navy and served aboard the USS
9San Carlos (AVP51) Sea Plane Tender during World War II; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. worked for International
11Harvester for 35 years; he was a founding member of Local 1304
12UAW-CIO and held membership from 1946 until his retirement in
131981; he served 20 years as shop steward; he then worked for
14Camera Corner in Moline for 16 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. was an avid amateur
16photographer; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. was preceded in death by his
18parents; his wife, Jane; his daughter, Alice; his brothers,
19Arthur and John; his sisters, Pat and Fran; one grandchild,
20Kelly; and one great-grandchild, Kevin; and

1    WHEREAS, Frank Van Houtte Sr. is survived by his sister,
2Mary Rizzolo; his brothers, Emil (Bonnie) Van Houtte and Joe
3(Linda) Van Houtte; his children, Michael (Vicki) Van Houtte,
4Frank Van Houtte Jr., and Karen Webber; his 10 grandchildren;
5his 25 great-grandchildren; and his 3
6great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Frank F. Van Houtte Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Frank Van Houtte Sr. as an
14expression of our deepest sympathy.
