2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Quinton E. Ford of Moline, who passed
4away on June 12, 2019; and
5    WHEREAS, Quinton Ford was born in Rock Island to Quinton
6and Vivian (Vroman) Ford on May 5, 1942; he was a veteran of
7the United States Navy; he married Joyce A. Thorngren at
8Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline on December 17, 1960; and
9    WHEREAS, Quinton Ford worked in structural steel sales and
10retired in 2005; and
11    WHEREAS, Quinton Ford was a member of Trinity Lutheran
12Church, where he was active as an assisting minister, a Sunday
13school and a vacation bible school teacher, a confirmation
14leader, a Befriender volunteer, and a Via de Cristo
15participant; he coached many youth basketball, baseball,
16softball, and football teams; he was a past president of the
17Willard School PTA, a Scout leader, a Hospice volunteer and
18board member, a member of the American Legion Post 246, a
19certified NRA firearms instructor, and a volunteer at Arrowhead
20Ranch; in his younger years, he played semi-professional
21football for the Davenport Warriors; and

1    WHEREAS, Quinton Ford was preceded in death by his parents;
2his wife, Joyce; and his brothers, Sergei and Patrick; and
3    WHEREAS, Quinton Ford is survived by his children, Quinton
4B. (Lauren) Ford, Stacy (Stephen) Elliott, Christopher (Laura)
5Ford, Sarah (John) Turner, and Joshua (Aimee) Ford; his
6grandchildren, Haleigh (Ricky) Hoyt, Joel Turner, Carly
7(Justin) Morris, Quinton T. (Abby) Ford, Aaron Ford, Keaton
8Ford, Jacob Ford, and Brody Ford; his great-grandchildren,
9Alena Turner, Ryker Hoyt, Sawyer Morris, Graham Hoyt, Addison
10Morris, and Ryan Morris; his siblings, Robbin Hensley, Chantel
11Brems, Burse (Gary) Badley, and Timothy Ford; and his friend,
12Terry Wisecarver; therefore, be it
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Quinton E. Ford and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Quinton Ford as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
