SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph S. "Joe" Zmuda of East Moline, who passed away on June 15, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Joe Zmuda was born to Josef and Helen (Gruszeckza) Zmuda on November 1, 1931; he received his bachelor's degree from St. Ambrose; he served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; he married Murrel "Mo" Moller in Rock Island on October 1, 1959; and

WHEREAS, Joe Zmuda was a sales representative for USG and retired as a management consultant for Gypsum Supply, Bettendorf; and

WHEREAS, Joe Zmuda was a committee member of Ducks Unlimited; he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed family trips to the cabin in Bellevue, Iowa; he strongly supported the higher education and success of his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Joe Zmuda was preceded in death by his wife, Mo; his infant son, Joseph Zmuda Jr.; his sister, Bernice; and his brothers, Ben and Ed; and

WHEREAS, Joe Zmuda is survived by his children, Steve Zmuda, Mark (Stacy) Zmuda, and Jeff (Jill) Zmuda; his grandchildren, Matthew (Maggie), Kayla, Caleb, Scott, Bethany, Jenna, and Julia; his great-grandson, Carter; his brother, Walt Zmuda; and his sisters-in-law, Jeannine and Adeline; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph S. "Joe" Zmuda and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joe Zmuda as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
