SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alvin F. Anderson, formerly of East Moline, who passed away on June 12, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Anderson was born in Stamford, Connecticut to George F. Anderson and Mary Mark on December 17, 1949; he graduated from United Township High School in 1967 and attended Iowa Central College, playing football in both high school and college; he served in the United States Army; he married Maxine Ballard in Rock Island on May 26, 2009; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Anderson worked in coolant recycling maintenance at the Rock Island Arsenal for over 37 years and retired in April 2017; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Anderson was an avid bowler and a member of the Rock Island Arsenal Bowling League; he watched movies repeatedly to perfect his knowlege of movie trivia; he enjoyed bike riding, exercising, cars, and motorcycles; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Anderson was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Kenya Anderson; and his sister, Betty Hubbard; and

WHEREAS, Alvin Anderson is survived by his wife, Maxine; his daughters, Aisha Anderson and Khadijah Anderson; his sons, Jeremy Anderson and Christopher (Qiana) Ballard; his six grandchildren; his great-grandchild; his sister, Lucille Paris; his brother, Sinclair (Gwen) Patterson; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Alvin F. Anderson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Alvin Anderson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
