SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Alfred Richard "Fred" Stryzs of Cleveland, who passed away on June 4, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Fred Stryzs was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Alfred A. and Mary (Radulski) Stryzs on May 12, 1948; he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served with the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam and was awarded several medals; and

WHEREAS, Fred Stryzs worked in construction initially as a surveyor and later found his niche as a project superintendent; he worked all over the United States, including Iowa, where he met Shari Lutz; they married in Las Vegas in 2003; and

WHEREAS, Fred Stryzs enjoyed saltwater fishing, the beach, spending time with "the usual suspects", casinos, a fine whisky, a good cigar, and family; and

WHEREAS, Fred Stryzs is survived by his wife, Shari; his children, David (Roxanne) Heinig, Amber Waggoner, Lacey (David) Fox, and Taylor (Joe Kubly) Satterly; his grandchildren, Matthew, Gwendalyn "Da", Buzz, Elise, Vincent, Evalette, Julien, and Cole; his great-grandson, Archer; and his brothers, Stan (Dee) Stryzs and Bill (Pat) Stryzs; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Alfred Richard "Fred" Stryzs and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Fred Stryzs as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
