SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Jack D. Gentry of Silvis, who passed away on May 24, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Jack Gentry was born in Atkinson to Ralph and Ruth (DeWolf) Gentry on September 12, 1932; he served in the United States Army; he married Elaine Cosner in Sterling on January 26, 1969; and

WHEREAS, Jack Gentry worked as a truck driver for 25 years and retired in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Jack Gentry was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Gentry; his sister, Connie Edwards; and his stepdaughter, Linda Staples; and

WHEREAS, Jack Gentry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Gentry; his children, Bonnie (John) DeMarlie, Carol (Allen) Deyoe, Susan (Mark) Vaughn, and David Peterson; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Winiford (Ruth) Gentry, Roy Gentry, Richard (Pat) Gentry, Keith (Sandra) Gentry, Jim (Audrey) Gentry, and Sheryl (Mike) Lewsader; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Jack D. Gentry and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jack Gentry as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
