SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Franklin W. Hermann Jr. of East Moline, who passed away on June 2, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Hermann was born in Rock Island to Franklin W. Sr. and Vada Dee Weibring Hermann on August 27, 1932; he served in the U.S. Army in Korea as a corporal from December 2, 1952 to November 3, 1954; he married Mary Elizabeth Inman; after the passing of his first wife, he married Diana Clay; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Hermann worked as a millwright for the former Frank's Foundry in Moline; he retired in the late 1980s; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Hermann was a member of Rock Island V.F.W. Post 1303 and Ducks Unlimited; he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and duck carving; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Hermann was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary; his second wife, Diana; his parents; and his grandson, Adam Hines; and

WHEREAS, Franklin Hermann is survived by his children, Mary (Paul) Hines, Bill Hermann, Bob Hermann, Robin (Kage) McCormick, and Jeanne Veasey; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his sister, Vera Beckhart; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Franklin W. Hermann Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Franklin Hermann as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
