SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Arthur F. "Freddy" Cheek of Moline, who passed away on June 4, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Freddy Cheek was born in Hannibal, Missouri to Fred and Anna Amelia Groene Cheek on June 17, 1926; he served in the United States Navy during World War II; he married Ella Mae Shoemyer in Hannibal, Missouri on September 5, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Freddy Cheek worked as a guard at Farmall for 33 years; and

WHEREAS, Freddy Cheek enjoyed fishing and golf and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears; and

WHEREAS, Freddy Cheek was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua; his sisters, Virginia and Marcella; and his son-in-law, Tony; and

WHEREAS, Freddy Cheek is survived by his wife, Ella Mae; his children, Judy (John) Cate and Mary Campagna; his grandsons, Matthew (Melissa) Cate and Joey (Eileen) Campagna; and his great-grandchildren, Evan, Emily, and Anthony; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Arthur F. "Freddy" Cheek and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Freddy Cheek as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
