SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mark Sides Sr. of Colona, who passed away on May 29, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Mark Sides was born in Moline to Ollis and Norma Davis Sides on July 4, 1964; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and married Michelle Reddig in Jamaica on August 11, 2001; and

WHEREAS, Mark Sides worked as a supervisor at IBP for several years; he later worked as a car salesman before becoming a partner in ownership and management of a computer repair and sales shop; and

WHEREAS, Mark Sides was active with American Legion Post 1233 in Colona and was a fierce advocate for all veterans; he served as Past Commander of the Honor Guard and was the Department of Illinois Public Relations Chairman and the 15th District Commander; he enjoyed golfing, riding his Harley, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mark Sides was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Mark Sides is survived by his wife, Michelle; his children, Mark (Kristina) Sides Jr., Michael Sides, Amy (Marc) Demers, Ricki Sides, Zackary Prescott, and Jeremy Prescott; 12 grandchildren; and his siblings, Carol (Bill) Goings and Gary (Lisa) Sides; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mark Sides Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mark Sides as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
