SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Franklin G. "Frank" Scalf of Silvis, who passed away on May 22, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Frank Scalf was born in Kirkwood to Gilbert and Mary Vera (Davis) Scalf on February 19, 1939; he served in the U.S. Air Force and married Donna Norman in East Moline on August 5, 1978; and

WHEREAS, Frank Scalf retired from John Deere Harvester in 1994 after 30 years of service; he owned and operated Scalf Contracting, retiring in 2006; and

WHEREAS, Frank Scalf was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church and a former member of the Deere Bowling League and the Deere Golf League; he enjoyed golfing, traveling, and wintering in Florida; and

WHEREAS, Frank Scalf was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, JoAnn Scalf; his brothers, Sam Scalf and Rolland Scalf; and his sister-in-law, Doris Scalf; and

WHEREAS, Frank Scalf is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Alan Scalf, Angela (Dale) Owen, and Kert (Dawn) Scalf; his stepchildren, Irene (Stanley) Parker, Arthur P. Anderson, and Anna (Matt) Schony; 13 grandchildren; his sister, Myrtle (Jerry) Bogart; and his brother, Tom (Barbara) Scalf; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Franklin G. "Frank" Scalf and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Scalf as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
