SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Franklin G. "Frank" Scalf of Silvis, who
4passed away on May 22, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Scalf was born in Kirkwood to Gilbert and
6Mary Vera (Davis) Scalf on February 19, 1939; he served in the
7U.S. Air Force and married Donna Norman in East Moline on
8August 5, 1978; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Scalf retired from John Deere Harvester in
101994 after 30 years of service; he owned and operated Scalf
11Contracting, retiring in 2006; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Frank Scalf was a member of Edgewood Baptist
13Church and a former member of the Deere Bowling League and the
14Deere Golf League; he enjoyed golfing, traveling, and wintering
15in Florida; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Frank Scalf was preceded in death by his parents;
17his sister, JoAnn Scalf; his brothers, Sam Scalf and Rolland
18Scalf; and his sister-in-law, Doris Scalf; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Frank Scalf is survived by his wife, Donna; his
20children, Alan Scalf, Angela (Dale) Owen, and Kert (Dawn)

1Scalf; his stepchildren, Irene (Stanley) Parker, Arthur P.
2Anderson, and Anna (Matt) Schony; 13 grandchildren; his sister,
3Myrtle (Jerry) Bogart; and his brother, Tom (Barbara) Scalf;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Franklin G. "Frank" Scalf and extend our sincere condolences to
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Frank Scalf as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
