SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Annelies DePaepe of Taylorville, who passed away on January 22, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Annelies DePaepe was born in Bergen, Holland to Simon and Johanna DeJong on December 20, 1943; she married Louis A. DePaepe Jr. in Pana on January 23, 1965; and

WHEREAS, Annelies DePaepe worked at the Breeze-Courier; for several years, she also worked in the office of the Christian County Circuit Clerk; and

WHEREAS, Annelies DePaepe was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pana; she enjoyed helping others, spending time with her family, and attending her grandchildren's school and sporting events; she loved her dogs, Lucy and Taylor; and

WHEREAS, Annelies DePaepe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis; and her sister, Simone Schneider; and

WHEREAS, Annelies DePaepe is survived by her children, Louis A. "Skip" (Sheila) DePaepe and Simone M. Barry; her grandchildren, Louis P. DePaepe, Meredith G. DePaepe, and Jude Elsmore; and her siblings, Frans Dejong, Marijke (Pietro) Bianchessi, Ineke Smit, and MaryLou (Robert) Spengel; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Annelies DePaepe and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Annelies DePaepe as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
