SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert O. Taube of Rock Island, who
4passed away on April 8, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Taube was born in Geneseo to Albert and
6Hulda Maetzold Taube on July 19, 1923; he graduated from
7Geneseo High School in 1941 and Iowa State College in 1951; he
8served in the United States Navy for three years during World
9War II in the South Pacific; he married Bernice Elling at
10Concordia Lutheran Church in Geneseo on January 28, 1951; he
11later married Jo Ann Van DeVeire at Immanuel Lutheran Church in
12Rock Island on July 14, 2000; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Taube was employed at John Deere Plow
14Planter in Moline as a design engineer, retiring in 1982; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Taube was a member of Immanuel Lutheran
16Church in Rock Island since 1959, where he served as an
17officer, sang in the choir, and was the last member of the F
18Troop; he also participated in the Maple City Band in Geneseo,
19the New Horizons Band in Davenport, the CASI Band, and numerous
20other bands throughout the area; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Robert Taube was preceded in death by his first

1wife, Bernice; his parents; and all of his siblings; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Taube is survived by his wife, JoAnn; his
3daughter, Rev. Ellen Taube; his brother-in-law, Alan Bamsey;
4and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Robert O. Taube and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Robert Taube as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
