SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of James M. "Jim" Iffland of Silvis, who passed away on April 2, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Jim Iffland was born in Rock Island to Earl and Flossie Iffland on July 23, 1939; he married Rebecca Conner on April 12, 1969; and

WHEREAS, Jim Iffland was a proud veteran of the United States Navy; and

WHEREAS, Jim Iffland will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, a tropical fish enthusiast, and a Bridge teacher and card player at the Moline Activity Center; and

WHEREAS, Jim Iffland was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rebecca; and his granddaughter, Christine Sikardi; and

WHEREAS, Jim Iffland is survived by his daughters, Heidi Iffland and Joelle (Thomas) Sikardi; his son, Sean (Sunshine) Iffland; his grandchildren, Kaelynn, Lillian, and Darien; and his step-grandchildren, Terra, Chris, Phelan, Jack, and Karina; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of James M. "Jim" Iffland and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jim Iffland as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
