SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank J. Galvin of Moline, who passed away on April 7, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Frank Galvin was born in Moline to Frank and Henrietta (Mohr) Galvin on May 23, 1930; he graduated from St. Ambrose Academy in 1948, St. Ambrose University in 1952, and the University of Illinois School of Law in 1955; he served in the U.S. Army and married Carol Miles in Winthrop, Massachusetts on October 25, 1958; and

WHEREAS, Frank Galvin joined the law firm of Potter and Gillman; he later specialized in the fields of real estate, probate, and debtor-creditor relations; and

WHEREAS, Frank Galvin was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a former member of St. Pius X Church, where he served on the parish council; he was a member of the Rock Island County Bar Association, where he served on the board of governors and as president in 1998-1999; he was a former member of the Oakwood Country Club, where he served on the board as entertainment chairman; he was an avid golfer; and

WHEREAS, Frank Galvin was preceded in death by his sisters, Jean and Kaye; his brothers, Bob and Jim; and his grandson, Jeffrey Oliver; and

WHEREAS, Frank Galvin is survived by his wife, Carol; his children, Michael (Kitka) Galvin, David Galvin, Stephanie (Dan) Oliver, John (Jennifer) Galvin, and Ted (Carmen) Galvin; his grandchildren, Jessica, Tatiana, and Tallia Galvin, Nick, Ted, and Rebecca Galvin, Kate Oliver, and Samantha and Adam Galvin; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank J. Galvin and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Galvin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
