SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joan Alderman of Divernon, who passed away on March 14, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Joan Alderman was born in Springfield to Fred and Florence Farrand Holzaepfel on July 31, 1932; she married Virgil Alderman in 1954; and

WHEREAS, Joan Alderman worked at the Sangamo Electric Company; she later worked as a secretary for the Springfield Board of Education for 16 years prior to her retirement in 1995; and

WHEREAS, Joan Alderman was a member of the Divernon United Methodist Church; and

WHEREAS, Joan Alderman was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; and

WHEREAS, Joan Alderman is survived by her daughters, Sally Alderman and Judy Alderman Dowis; her granddaughter, Sarah (Craig Moreland) Dowis; and her great-granddaughter, Charlotte "Charlie"; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joan Alderman and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joan Alderman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
