| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase Sabethal White | 4 | | of Tucson, Arizona, who died in the line of duty on November | 5 | | 29, 2018; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White was born on July 28, | 7 | | 1977; he grew up in Central Illinois and earned a bachelor's | 8 | | degree in history from the University of Illinois in 2000; he | 9 | | served in the United States Air Force from 2000 until 2007; he | 10 | | rose to the rank of Captain and then continued to serve in the | 11 | | Air Force Reserve in the 926th Wing at Nellis Air Force Base, | 12 | | where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; while serving | 13 | | in the United States Air Force, he completed coursework for his | 14 | | master's degree in human relations, which he received, with a | 15 | | 4.0 grade point average, from the University of Oklahoma in | 16 | | 2003; and
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White joined the U.S. Marshals | 18 | | Service in 2015 and served in the District of Arizona, Tucson | 19 | | office; prior to his service with the Marshals, he worked as an | 20 | | Investigator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission | 21 | | in Las Vegas for six years; in that role, he helped enforce | 22 | | federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job | 23 | | applicant or an employee because of race, religion, sex, age, |

| 1 | | disability, and other factors; and
| 2 | | WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White was an outstanding | 3 | | professional, who was dedicated to eradicating crime from the | 4 | | streets of Tucson; he was devoted to making his community and | 5 | | the Nation safer; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Deputy U.S. Marshal White is survived by his wife, | 7 | | Sue Ellen, and his four children; therefore, be it
| 8 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 9 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 10 | | Deputy U.S. Marshal Chase Sabethal White and extend our sincere | 11 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | 12 | | him; and be it further
| 13 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | 14 | | presented to the family of Deputy U. S. Marshal White as an | 15 | | expression of our deepest sympathy.
