SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stanley G. "Stan" Knearem of Cowden, who
4passed away on January 23, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stan Knearem was born in Effingham to Donald and
6Lois (Doty) Knearem on August 29, 1945; he served on the Fort
7Bragg Rifle Team in the United States Army from 1968 until
81970; he married Marilou Wren in Shelbyville on May 29, 1968;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Stan Knearem was an insurance agent with Country
11Companies for 37 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Stan Knearem was an active member of the Cowden
13community, as well as the surrounding communities; he served on
14the Cowden Fire Department and was previously the Mayor of
15Cowden; he was a member of the First Christian Church in
16Cowden, the American Legion of Herrick, Greenland Masonic Lodge
17#665 of Beecher City, and the Scottish Rite of Danville; he was
18a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Stan Knearem was preceded in death by his father,
20Donald Knearem; his mother and stepfather, Lois and Richard
21McGinness; his sister, Jackie Storm; and his brother-in-law,

1Arnold Humphrey; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Stan Knearem is survived by his wife of 50 years,
3Marilou; his son, Rory Knearem; his grandsons, Derrick Knearem
4and Andrew Force; his brothers, Ken (Anita) Knearem and Mac
5(Dawn) McGinness; his sisters, Donna Kay Humphrey and Rose
6(Larry) Walker; his aunts, Rosalie Doty, Erna Doty, Linda
7Cunningham, and Sandy Anderson; his uncle, Roger (Patsy) Doty;
8and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Stanley G. "Stan" Knearem and extend our sincere condolences to
12his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Stan Knearem as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
