SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Constance T. "Connie" Montgomery of Cresco, Pennsylvania, formerly of Chicago, who passed away on July 13, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery was born in Savannah, Georgia to Eddie Mazo and Florence (George) Mazo; she graduated from Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; she earned her master's degrees from Roosevelt University and the University of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery taught and was an administrator at DuSable High School in Chicago; she later served as the principal of Future Commons High School in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery was a devoted member of the gospel choir at St. James Catholic Church in Chicago; she spent countless hours serving on numerous non-profit boards and passionately helped those in need; she will be greatly missed; and

WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Connie Montgomery is survived by her son, David Montgomery; her daughter, Debra (Lawrence) Esposito; and her granddaughter, Nia Esposito; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Constance T. "Connie" Montgomery and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Connie Montgomery as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
