SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lois Estelle Davis, who passed away on November 26, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Lois Davis was born to Frank Park Watkins and Louise Gladys Watkins on August 16, 1929; she attended Chicago Public Schools and earned a master's degree from Roosevelt University; she married Lennell Davis; and

WHEREAS, Lois Davis was a registered nurse and worked at The Chicago Maternity Center and for the Chicago Board of Health; and

WHEREAS, Lois Davis was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Chicago; she enjoyed reading, watching movies, baking, cooking, dancing, and traveling; and

WHEREAS, Lois Davis was preceded in death by her husband, Lennell; her siblings, Laura Watkins-Harden, Lillian Marie Broussard, Lenora Louis Godwin, Barbara Jean Harden, and Nancy Elizabeth Bains; and her son-in-law, Kevin Goosby; and

WHEREAS, Lois Davis is survived by her sister, Joane Watkins; her children, Dr. Kenneth (Gail) Davis, Linda Davis, Beverly Goosby, Janet Marks, and Phyllis (Danny) Sims; her grandchildren, Lachelle (Kevin) Allen, Lisa (Terrance) Douglas, Selena Odom, Bryant Marks, and Neisha Marks; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lois Estelle Davis and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lois Davis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
