SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Laverne Katherine Tomaso, who passed away on August 13, 2020 at the age of 84; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was born on June 5, 1936; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was a longtime resident of Oak Park; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was a dedicated, 50-year-plus member of the Saint Giles Family Mass Community and was a lover of music, babies, gardens, and all things sweet, especially chocolate; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso was preceded in death by her husband, Richard G. Tomaso, and her daughter, Katherine Tomaso; and

WHEREAS, Laverne Tomaso is survived by her children, Rick Tomaso, Carla (Ronald) Weil, Jon (Amy) Tomaso, and Suzy (William) Bradford; her siblings, Marion Blake, Geri (Tom) Flynn, and Maureen and Michael Blake; and her grandchildren, Maddy and Ellie Weil, Jennifer, Luke, and Benjamin Bradford, and Michael, Ryan, and Ava Tomaso; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing Laverne Katherine Tomaso and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Laverne Tomaso as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
