SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Thomas J. Lynch, who passed away on October 22, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was born in Hammond, Indiana to Thomas P. and Mary Ellen (Thompson) Lynch on July 7, 1927; he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Alice Robb in Rock Island on November 29, 1947, and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2020; and

WHEREAS, After 37 years of service, Thomas Lynch retired as a senior systems analyst from Deere & Company in 1984; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline, where he sang in the choir, helped with the food pantry, and helped serve Rotary; he was an avid golfer and made a hole in one at hole #8 on the greens of Highland Springs in 1997; he served as a scout master for Troop #335 Franklin School Moline, where he received the Silver Beaver Award; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and his stepfather, Lou Maisack; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch is survived by his sons, Dennis (Teresa) Lynch, Richard (Teressa) Lynch, and Randall (Sharon) Lynch; his grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Jeremy, Benjamin, Chad, Kelly, Nicole, Adam, and Mark; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Thomas J. Lynch and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas Lynch as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
