| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of Thomas J. Lynch, who passed away on | 4 | | October 22, 2020; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was born in Hammond, Indiana to | 6 | | Thomas P. and Mary Ellen (Thompson) Lynch on July 7, 1927; he | 7 | | served in the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Alice | 8 | | Robb in Rock Island on November 29, 1947, and she preceded him | 9 | | in death on October 14, 2020; and
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After 37 years of service, Thomas Lynch retired as | 11 | | a senior systems analyst from Deere & Company in 1984; and
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was a member of the Christ United | 13 | | Methodist Church in East Moline, where he sang in the choir, | 14 | | helped with the food pantry, and helped serve Rotary; he was an | 15 | | avid golfer and made a hole in one at hole #8 on the greens of | 16 | | Highland Springs in 1997; he served as a scout master for Troop | 17 | | #335 Franklin School Moline, where he received the Silver | 18 | | Beaver Award; and
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch was preceded in death by his parents; | 20 | | his wife; and his stepfather, Lou Maisack; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Lynch is survived by his sons, Dennis | 2 | | (Teresa) Lynch, Richard (Teressa) Lynch, and Randall (Sharon) | 3 | | Lynch; his grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Jeremy, | 4 | | Benjamin, Chad, Kelly, Nicole, Adam, and Mark; 17 | 5 | | great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; | 6 | | therefore, be it
| 7 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | 8 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | 9 | | Thomas J. Lynch and extend our sincere condolences to his | 10 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | 11 | | further
