SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tom L. Proksch of Milan, who passed away on August 19, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Tom Proksch was born in Rock Island to Richard and Lucille (Biebinger) Proksch on August 9, 1949; he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, which included three tours of duty; he married Bonnie L. Swinford in Milan on September 29, 1967; and

WHEREAS, Tom Proksch was a tool and die maker for 30 years with J.I. Case/C.N.H.; and

WHEREAS, Tom Proksch enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends; and

WHEREAS, Tom Proksch was preceded in death by his parents; eight sisters; and two brothers; and

WHEREAS, Tom Proksch is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his son, Tom Proksch; his granddaughters, Lindsey and Alyssa Proksch; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members; and his special friend, Mark "Ollie" Thornton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Tom L. Proksch and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tom Proksch as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
