SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
625 ILCS 70/20

    Amends the DUI Prevention and Education Commission Act. Provides that on the first day of each month, the State Treasurer and State Comptroller shall transfer $20,000 from the Roadside Memorial Fund to the DUI Prevention and Education Fund, in addition to the State Comptroller directing and the State Treasurer transferring, on or before June 30 of each year, any remaining balance in excess of $30,000 from the Roadside Memorial Fund to the DUI Prevention and Education Fund.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The DUI Prevention and Education Commission Act
5is amended by changing Section 20 as follows:
 
6    (625 ILCS 70/20)
7    Sec. 20. DUI Prevention and Education Fund; transfer of
8funds.
9    (a) The DUI Prevention and Education Fund is created as a
10special fund in the State treasury. Subject to appropriation,
11all moneys in the DUI Prevention and Education Fund shall be
12distributed by the Department of Transportation with guidance
13from the DUI Prevention and Education Commission as grants for
14crash victim programs and materials, impaired driving
15prevention programs, law enforcement support, and other
16DUI-related programs.
17    (b) On the first day of each month, or as soon thereafter
18as may be practical, the State Treasurer and State Comptroller
19shall transfer $20,000 from the Roadside Memorial Fund to the
20DUI Prevention and Education Fund, except that,
21notwithstanding any other provision of law, and in addition to
22any other transfers that may be provided for by law, on or
23before June 30 of each year As soon as practical after the

1effective date of this Act, the State Comptroller shall direct
2and the State Treasurer shall transfer any remaining balance in
3excess of $30,000 from the Roadside Memorial Fund to the DUI
4Prevention and Education Fund.
