SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

415 ILCS 5/11.2 new

Amends the Environmental Protection Act. Provides that a pesticide applicator shall notify a beekeeper if the pesticide is applied within 3 miles of the beekeeper's colony registered with the Department of Agriculture under the Bees and Apiaries Act. Effective January 1, 2021.

AN ACT concerning safety.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Environmental Protection Act is amended by adding Section 11.2 as follows:

(415 ILCS 5/11.2 new)

Sec. 11.2. Pesticide applicators; beekeepers. A pesticide applicator shall notify a beekeeper, as that term is defined under Section 1a of the Bees and Apiaries Act, if the pesticide is applied within 3 miles of the beekeeper's colony registered with the Department of Agriculture under the Bees and Apiaries Act.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 1, 2021.
