HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Emma M. Cannon of Peoria, who passed away on September 19, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Emma Cannon born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to John and Amanda "Emma" (Dunlop) Brereton on April 27, 1930; she married William Cannon in Peoria on June 19, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Emma Cannon was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church; she was in the women's study group at Holy Family for over 45 years; and

WHEREAS, Emma Cannon was preceded in death by her husband, William, and her siblings, Marian Carbaugh and James Brereton; and

WHEREAS, Emma Cannon is survived by her children, Laurie Covington, William (Marcia) Cannon, Greg (Christy) Cannon, and Terry (Beth) Renard; her grandchildren, Megan (Justin) Pierce, Scott (Courtney) Cannon, Ryan (Jeremy Miller) Cannon, Matt, Bryce, and Drew Cannon, Erica (Jason) Scheuman, and Kerry (Jerry) Richard; her step-grandson, Brett (Anna) Wieser; and 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Emma M. Cannon and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Emma Cannon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
