HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Coach Jose Villa and the West Chicago Community High School boys soccer team, the Wildcats, on winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association Class 3A Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Wildcats advanced to the finals along with other schools from around the State, including Morton West High School of Berwyn, St. Patrick High School of Chicago, and Edwardsville High School; and

WHEREAS, On November 9, 2019, the Wildcats faced off against Morton West High School in the final game of the competition, beating the Mustangs 2 to 0 and securing the championship and their place in history as state champions; and

WHEREAS, The Morton Mustangs had not lost to another Illinois-based team prior to this defeat, and the Wildcats did not advance past the regional competition stage during the 2018 season, making this win even more significant; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Coach Jose Villa and the West Chicago Community High School boys soccer team, the Wildcats, on winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association Class 3A Championship, and we wish them many more successful seasons; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the members and coaches of the Wildcats as an expression of our esteem and respect.
