SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
725 ILCS 5/106F-20
725 ILCS 5/106F-25 rep.

    Amends the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963. Makes the Task Force on Children of Incarcerated Parents permanent. Provides that the Task Force shall continue to meet and issue reports at its discretion. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning criminal law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963 is
5amended by changing Section 106F-20 as follows:
 
6    (725 ILCS 5/106F-20)
7    (Section scheduled to be repealed on July 1, 2020)
8    Sec. 106F-20. Task Force; meetings; duties.
9    (a) The Task Force on Children of Incarcerated Parents
10shall meet at least 4 times beginning within 30 days after the
11effective date of this amendatory Act of the 101st General
12Assembly. The first meeting shall be held no later than August
131, 2019.
14    (b) The Task Force shall review available research, best
15practices, and effective interventions to formulate
16recommendations.
17    (c) The Task Force shall produce a report detailing the
18Task Force's findings and recommendations and needed
19resources. The Task Force shall submit a report of its findings
20and recommendations to the General Assembly and the Governor by
21March 1, 2020. The Task Force shall continue to meet and issue
22reports at its discretion.

4amended by repealing Section 106F-25.
 
5    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6becoming law.
