Fiscal Note, House Committee Amendment No. 1 (Office of the State Fire Marshal) | |
House Bill 4609, as amended by HA #1, requires the Office of the State Fire Marshal ("OSFM" or "the Agency") to provide administrative and other support to the Task Force on Fire Prevention and Fire Safety Education ("Task Force"). The costs to the Agency would include, but may not be limited to, reimbursements to Task Force members for travel costs, costs for court reporters for the Task Force meetings, and costs for staff to support the Task Force. Since the legislation does not indicate the frequency of Task Force meetings, it is difficult for OSFM to determine an exact fiscal impact. The legislation could have a significant impact on the Agency's operations given the fact that funding for the Task Force has not been included in the Agency's budget. |
