Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Unified Code of Corrections relating to the additional child pornography fine. Provides that if Department of State Police officers investigated the case that gave rise to the conviction of the defendant for child pornography, the additional fine shall be remitted by the circuit clerk within one month after receipt to the State Treasurer for deposit into the State Crime Laboratory Fund. When the Department of State Police provides assistance to another law enforcement agency which investigated the case that gave rise to the conviction of the defendant for child pornography, $100 of the additional fine shall be remitted by the circuit clerk within one month after receipt to the State Treasurer for deposit into the State Crime Laboratory Fund.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the bill, except provides that when the Department of State Police provides digital or electronic forensic examination assistance, or both, (rather than assistance) to another law enforcement agency which investigated the case that gave rise to the conviction of the defendant for child pornography, $100 of the additional fine shall be remitted by the circuit clerk within one month after receipt to the State Treasurer for deposit into the State Crime Laboratory Fund.

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the additional child pornography fines shall be remitted to the Department of State Police instead of the State Treasurer.
