Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning unlawful practices.
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Provides that by July 1, 2013 stations must provide an ADA compliant motor fuel dispenser with a direct telephone number that will allow a disabled operator of a motor vehicle to request refueling assistance. Provides that a station that does not have at least one ADA compliant motor fuel dispenser must display at least one motor fuel dispenser a direct telephone number to the station that allows the disabled operator of a motor vehicle to request fueling assistance. Provides that an owner or operator found to be in violation of the Act shall pay a fine of $250. Provides for enforcement by the Department of Agriculture.
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinstates the provisions of the bill. Changes the requirement to provide or display at least one ADA compliant motor fuel dispenser with a direct telephone number to the station by July 1, 2013 to January 1, 2014. Removes operators from the section fining owners or operators of service stations not in compliance. Changes the deposit location of fine money from the Weights and Measures Fund to the Motor Fuel and Standards Fund.
