Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Illinois Renewable Fuels Development Program Act. Sets forth goals for the use of denatured ethanol as a blending agent to produce gasohol and majority blended ethanol as follows: a minimum of 15% of all taxable gasoline sold in Illinois beginning January 1, 2012 and a minimum of 20% beginning January 1, 2017. Effective immediately.
House Committee Amendment No. 1 Provides that beginning January 1, 2012, it is the goal of the State of Illinois that denatured ethanol used as a blending agent to produce gasohol or majority blended ethanol in Illinois for the current fiscal year should (instead of shall) equate to a minimum of 15% of all taxable gasoline sold in Illinois during the previous fiscal year. Makes a corresponding change to the goal for selling gasohol or majority blended ethanol for the 2017 fiscal year.
