Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the School Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning State goals and assessment.

House Floor Amendment No. 1

305 ILCS 5/5-5.23 new

Deletes everything. Creates the Children's Mental Health Act of 2003 and amends the State Finance Act and the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the State to develop a Children's Mental Health Plan containing short-term and long-term recommendations to provide comprehensive, coordinated mental health prevention, early intervention, and treatment services for children through age 18. Creates the Children's Mental Health Partnership to develop and monitor the implementation of the Plan and report to the Governor. Requires the Department of Public Aid and the Department of Human Services to take certain actions with respect to children's mental health services provided under Medicaid. Effective immediately.
