Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Makes technical changes in a Section concerning the short title.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
20 ILCS 105/1
Adds reference to:
20 ILCS 105/4.04a new

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging. Creates the Illinois Long-Term Care Council. Provides that the purpose of the Illinois Long-Term Care Council is to ensure that consumers over the age of 60 and residing in nursing homes receive high quality long-term care. Requires the Department on Aging to appoint the Long-Term Care Council. Contains provisions concerning the maintenance and operation of the Council. Provides that the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman and each area agency on aging, regional long-term care ombudsman program, and provider agency has certain responsibilities regarding the Council. Enumerates the powers and duties of the Council. Provides that the Council shall be composed of at least 18 but not more than 25 members. Contains provisions concerning the appointment of members to the Council. Provides that the Council shall meet at least 3 times per calendar year. Provides qualifications for voting and non-voting members. Effective immediately.
