Synopsis As Introduced Amends the School Safety Drill Act. Provides that in updating a public school building's emergency and crisis response plans, the school board shall ensure that the plans are accessible in a digital format. Requires every effort to be made to make the emergency and crisis response plans available to first responders, administrators, and teachers for implementation and utilization on handheld electronic devices.
House Floor Amendment No. 2 Deletes the requirement that the board ensure that the public school building's emergency and crisis response plans are accessible in a digital format. Provides instead that in updating a school building's emergency and crisis response plans, consideration may be given to making the emergency and crisis response plans available to first responders, administrators, and teachers for implementation and utilization through the use of electronic applications on electronic devices, including, but not limited to, smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers.
