Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that the corporate authorities of a municipality may fix, charge, and collect fees not exceeding the reasonable cost of the service for all emergency services rendered by the municipality against persons, businesses, and other entities who are not residents of the municipality. Specifies that the fee shall be computed at a rate not to exceed $250 per hour for emergency assistance. Provides that no fee shall be imposed for fire and rescue services when the total cost is less than $50. Effective immediately.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Further amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides that a municipality may fix, charge, and collect fees not exceeding the reasonable cost of the service for all services (now, emergency fire and rescue services) rendered by the "fire department" of the municipality against persons, businesses, and other entities who are not residents of the municipality. Further provides that certain fee limitations shall not apply to ambulance services, and those services may be billed separately.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Township Code. Provides that on and after the effective date of the amendatory Act, there shall be no township collector elected in counties having a population of more than 2,000,000 inhabitants. Provides that the township assessor shall be the ex-officio township collector, and all the collector's duties shall be performed by the assessor. Effective immediately.
