Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that the Act may be cited as "Patricia's Law". Prohibits supervision disposition in cases where the defendant's violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code or similar local ordinance was the proximate cause of the death of another person.
Senate Committee Amendment No. 1 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the engrossed bill with the following change: provides that the prohibition on court dispositions of supervision where the defendant's violation of the Illinois Vehicle Code is the proximate cause of the death of another person only applies when the defendant's driving abstract contains a prior conviction or supervision for a moving violation or a suspension, revocation, or cancellation of his or her license.
