Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that trapped beaver, river otter, weasel, mink, or muskrat may be killed with a .22 caliber or a smaller rifle. Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Wildlife Code. Provides that it shall be unlawful to take beaver, river otter, weasel, mink, or muskrat except during the open season set annually by the Director of Natural Resources, and then, only with traps, except that a firearm, pistol, or airgun of a caliber not larger than a .22 long rifle may be used to remove the animal from the trap. Effective immediately.
