Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Insurance Code, the Health Maintenance Organization Act, and the Voluntary Health Services Plans Act to require coverage of preventative physical therapy for insureds diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Effective immediately.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that the physical therapy must be medically necessary as defined by the prescribing physician to achieve an preserve optimal functional status or to reduce the rate of deterioration of the medical condition or body part due to disease.
