Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Under the Medicaid program, authorizes the Department of Public Aid to provide for the services of persons licensed as a clinical psychologist, clinical social worker, or clinical professional counselor in supplying medical assistance. Prohibits the Department's rules from requiring that services for a specific Medicaid recipient provided by a licensed clinical psychologist, licensed clinical social worker, or licensed clinical professional counselor be recommended by a physician. Effective immediately.

 Fiscal Note (Department of Public Aid)
 Based on information received from other agencies, we estimate the cost to be between $17 to $23 million and, possibly, substantially more.
