Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Act on the Aging by providing that vendors of homemaker, chore, and housekeeping services shall receive a rate increase of $1.37 per hour. Effective July 1, 2003.

 Fiscal Note (Department of Aging)
House Bill 1178 amends the Illinois Act on Aging to require that the reimbursement rate for homemaker vendors be increased by $1.37 per hour, effective July 1, 2003. As such, the Illinois Department on Aging's reimbursement rate for Community Care Program homemaker services would increase from $11.06 per hour to $12.43 per hour. Based on estimate of total units (hours) of homemaker service that will be provided during FY04, the gross general revenue cost of this rate increase would be approximately $23.3 million. The net cost to the state, based on recent Medicaid claiming data, is estimated at $18.4 million. Please note that the term "net cost" refers to the gross state general revenue fund expenditure less Medicaid federal financial participation revenues.
