Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act. Provides that an applicant for licensure must submit to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation satisfactory evidence that he or she has an unemployment insurance employer account number issued by the Department of Employment Security, and that he or she is not delinquent in the payment of any amount due under the Unemployment Insurance Act (rather than submit satisfactory evidence that he or she has an Illinois Unemployment Insurance employer identification number or proof of application to the Illinois Department of Labor for such an identification number).

Adds reference to:
225 ILCS 335/9from Ch. 111, par. 7509

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Roofing Industry Licensing Act. Provides that an applicant for a license must submit satisfactory evidence that he or she has an unemployment insurance employer account number issued by the Department of Employment Security, and that he or she is not delinquent in the payment of any amount due under the Unemployment Insurance Act. Provides that all persons performing work on a roofing project shall be licensed as a roofing contractor, except for those persons who are deemed to be employees under the Employee Classification Act of a licensed roofing contractor.

Senate Floor Amendment No. 2
Provides that all persons performing roofing services under the Act (rather than all persons performing work on a roofing project) shall be licensed as roofing contractors, except for persons who are deemed to be employees under certain provisions of the Employee Classification Act of a licensed roofing contractor.
