Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning persons that are not to be granted a license or permit.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Deletes reference to:
625 ILCS 5/6-103
Adds reference to:
625 ILCS 5/6-105.1 new

Deletes everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State may issue a temporary visitor's driver's license to a foreign national residing in this State and ineligible for a social security number. Provides that the person must provide documentation, issued by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, authorizing his or her presence in this country. Provides that the temporary license is valid for 3 years, or for the period of time the person is authorized to be in this country, whichever ends sooner. Provides that the Secretary shall adopt rules to implement the new provision, including rules regarding the design and content of the temporary license.
