Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Illinois First Person Consent Task Force to examine Illinois statutes and programs regarding organ donation.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
With respect to the membership of the Illinois First Person Consent Task Force, eliminates a representative of the University of Chicago and adds a representative from each transplant center in Illinois as well as other interested representatives as designated by the Secretary of State, including, but not limited to (i) a medical ethicist, (ii) a member of a donor family, and (iii) a transplant recipient or a member of a recipient's family. Eliminates the requirements that the Task Force summarize its findings within a proposal that may be incorporated into legislation and recommend how to efficiently and cost-effectively implement such legislation (simply requires a summarization of the Task Force's findings and recommendations in a report to the General Assembly).

Senate Committee Amendment No. 1
Changes the name of the Illinois First Person Consent Task Force to the Illinois Donor Authorization Task Force, and requires the Task Force to report to the General Assembly on or before December 31, 2004.
