Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Project Labor Agreements Act. Provides that, if a municipality, county, or township prohibits the consideration of a project labor agreement by rule, initiative, or ordinance, then State funding or financial assistance shall not be used to support that project.

 Judicial Note (Admin Office of the Illinois Courts)
 This bill would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the State.

 Fiscal Note (Dept. of Labor)
 HB 5657 creates no responsibilities for the Department of Labor and has no fiscal impact.

House Floor Amendment No. 1
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Reinserts the provisions of the introduced bill, but makes changes. Provides that, if a municipality, county, or township prohibits the consideration of a project labor agreement by rule, initiative, or ordinance, then State funding or financial assistance shall not be used to support any public works project authorized by that municipality, county, or township (rather than, shall not be used to support that project).

 This bill does not pre-empt home rule authority.
