Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the purpose of the "Medicaid" Article.

305 ILCS 5/5-30

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Medical Assistance Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. In provisions concerning care coordination, provides that Managed Care Entities (MCEs), including Managed Care Organizations and all other care coordination organizations, serving individuals enrolled in the medical assistance program shall develop and maintain a written Language Access Policy that sets forth standards, guidelines, and an operational plan to ensure language-appropriate services and that is consistent with the standard of meaningful access for Limited English Proficiency (LEP) populations. Provides that the Language Access Policy shall describe how the MCEs will provide certain required services, including written translation of vital documents and forms, qualified oral interpreter services, and staff training on the Language Access Policy.
