Synopsis As Introduced
Creates the Fictitious Higher Education Degree Act. Provides that if a resident of this State applies for a higher education degree through the Internet and the institution offering the degree has not been approved by the Board of Higher Education as an institution that may award a higher education degree through the Internet, then the degree must contain a statement that the institution has not been approved by the Board of Higher Education as an institution that may award a higher education degree. Effective immediately.

110 ILCS 205/9.30 new

Deletes everything. Requires the Board of Higher Education to establish and maintain an Internet-based system to assist students, families, and others seeking information concerning the legitimacy of degree programs and degree-credit courses that are offered over the Internet. Effective immediately.
