Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Lead Poisoning Prevention Act. Provides that physicians and health care providers may screen children for lead poisoning in conjunction with the school health exam when, in the physician's judgment, the child is potentially at high risk of lead poisoning.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that an advanced practice nurse who has a written collaborative agreement with a collaborating physician that authorizes the advance practice nurse to perform health examinations or a physician assistant who has been delegated to perform health examinations by the supervising physician shall screen children for lead poisoning in conjunction with the school examination, when, in the medical judgment of the advanced practice nurse or physician assistant, the child is potentially at high risk of lead poisoning.
