Provides that if the teacher is dismissed or discharged during the probationary period, the notice of dismissal or discharge and the general superintendent's written reasons for recommending the dismissal or discharge shall be sent by certified mail, return receipt requested, by the board at least 45 days before the end of the probationary period. Provides that if the teacher has not had one year of full-time teaching experience before the beginning of a probationary period of 2 years, the board may at its option extend the probationary period for one additional year.
