Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Code. Provides that a county that has established a mental health court may assess a fee of no more than $10 for the processing of criminal cases upon the conviction of an individual in that court. Provides that the fees collected shall be deposited in the Mental Health Court Fund to be used for the purpose of establishing and operating a mental health court in the State. Amends the State Finance Act to create the Mental Health Court Fund. Effective immediately.
Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Counties Code. Provides that a county board may enact by ordinance or resolution a $10 fee to be paid by the defendant on a judgment of guilty or a grant of supervision under specified provisions of the Unified Code of Corrections to be placed in the county general fund and used to finance the county mental health court.
